1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS 30th Anniversary with SLP package

This vehicle has been adult owned and well maintained all of its life. A true SS camaro with SLP package and has only 62k miles. I am a certified automotive technician and I work at a Lincoln-Mercury dealership. I am listing this vehicle for my father-in-law. Only about 5k miles have been put on the car in the past two years and it has been babied. It also has been mostly garage kept. The previous owner was a NASA engineer and also took very well care of it. The vehicle sat for about 2 years in my father-in-law's garage and at 57k miles was towed to the dealership that i work at where I personally performed major services to the vehicle to make sure that everything was in driving condition.

This Camaro has a powerful LT1 5.7 liter engine that is backed up by a T56 six speed transmission with Hurst shifter and limited slip differential.

The vehicle was altered after production by SLP Engineering, Inc. (SLP stands for Street Legal Performance). The SLP package includes true ram-air hood and air cleaner assembly, 3" cat-back exhaust and high flow muffler, and wheels. It also has Bilstein stage 3 suspension. The only other engine modification the vehicle has besides the SLP package is a Hypertech power programmer which is included with the sale just incase you want to custom tune it or put it back to the factory tune.

At 57k miles I replaced all 8 spark plugs and wires, I installed a new distributor cap, rotor, and new ignition coil. I installed a new water pump and flushed the cooling system. I installed all new power steering components including power steering pump, all hoses and reservoir. I put on a set of new Yokohama ES100 tires (275/40ZR17) z-rated tires that have less than 5k miles. I replaced the front brake pads and resurfaced the brake rotors. I drained the fuel tank and filled with fresh fuel and replaced the filter and flushed the fuel injectors. I also changed the engine oil, transmission fluid and differential fluid.

Last week when we decided to sell it, I drove it to the car wash and the fuel pump went out. So I replaced the fuel pump, strainer and fuel filter.

Today on 7-20-2009 i replaced the air conditioning compressor and the drier. I also flushed the condenser and cleaned the thermal expansion valve. I pulled vacuum on the A/C system and let it sit for 30 minutes to verify that there are no leaks. The A/C blows very cold. Today i also serviced the K&N air filter.

The vehicle has an alarm system that has an adjustable proximity sensor incase you want to park it and leave the T-tops off. If anyone gets within 3 or 4 feet it will give a warning chirp to scare them away. It has factory AM/FM/cassette player with aftermarket Pioneer 12 disc CD changer.
